Trip reservation and cancellation policies
Payment
Trip of less than $10 000,00: the first payment of 40% is required on reservation. Balance of payment is due 6 months prior the departure date. For reservation less than 6 months before departure date the full payment is required.
Trip of more than $10 000,00: the first payment of 40% is required on reservation. Balance of payment is due 8 months prior the departure date. For reservation less than 8 months before departure date the full payment is required.
For reservations made more than 12 months before the departure date: there may be a slight travel price adjustment if you book your expedition more than 12 months before the departure date.
- When making your reservation you must be ready to make a payment of 40% of total price. Payable either by wire transfer or Interac, check or cash (USD)
- Balance of payment (60%) is payable either by wire transfer or Interac, check or cash (USD).
- When you register, if the trip has different prices depending on the number of participants registered, you must be prepared to pay the highest price, the one related to the minimum of registrations required to confirm the trip.
- For trips over $10,000.00 a payment agreement, at the discretion of Attitude Montagne, can be arrange to pay the first payment of 40%, contact us.
- Trip rates are displayed in US dollars except for those taking place in Canada.
Dates and follow up
Axer your reservation is made, Attitude Montagne will provide the list of equipment (except HM3). But it is possible that the communication regarding the trip with Attitude Montagne’s team may be restrained until 2 to 3 month before departure. Before that time it is possible that some of the details of the trip or the list of equipment may change. International trip logistic is complex and may require some last minute adjustment. Of course everything will be done to deliver the trip as the client reserved it. The purchase of the airfare (please see below) will be proposed by Attitude Montagne between 2 and 3 month before departure. Client may reserve his airfare before that time (please see cancellation policies). A pre-departure meeting will be schedule 1 to 2 month before departure. Some unexpected conditions may change this planning without further notice.
Pre-departure training
It is the responsibility of each participant to train adequately for the chosen trip. Attitude Montagne can’t tell participant how to train as it depend on everyone condition/health. Hiring a professional trainer may be required. Depending of the trip, you should be in good shape as the day should required up to 20 hour of physical effort and carry a 40 pound backpack. That doesn’t include the high altitude factor that may impact the success of the summit. If a participant don’t have the physical shape required, the guide once arrive, could stop the client at the base camp if its security or the one of the group can be compromised and that without any refund. For mountaineering trip, a training program will be provided axer the first payment of 40% is fully paid.
Passport, authorization, visas, vaccines, etc.
Traveller must have a valid passport for the duration of the trip and any other duration required by the local authority. He should have with him any other required and valid document including visa. Each traveller is responsible to complete and obtain the required document before departure and during the trip (passport, visa, health certificate, etc.).
Health
Traveller having allergies, disease or having a medical prescription must advise Attitude Montagne before doing the registration. Attitude Montagne could cancel any departure if the traveller didn’t tell the company about its health problem and if it could affect the trip and the security of the participant. If the health condition is not adequate to do the trip, Attitude Montagne could cancel the departure without any refund. For trip in high altitude, Attitude Montagne asks to each participant to valid its health condition with a doctor. Each participant should provide a medical prescription and have the medication mandatory for high altitude sickness. If a participant doesn’t have the medical prescription, the guide could stop the client at the base camp or the city without any refund.
– If during the trip, if the participant have to be evacuated for health reason or any other reason, the client will have to pay for the extra fees or changes to the schedule (hotel, transportation, etc.).
Modification to the registration form
Traveller must advise Attitude Montagne if there are any changes regarding the registration form (address, email, health condition, passport #, etc.). Otherwise, client may not receive some communication from Attitude Montagne or can have his trip cancelled if the health condition is no longer good enough for the trip.
Insurance
Traveller is responsible to subscribe to a travel insurance, cancellation, luggage, etc.
Cancellation by the client
When payment(s) or the complete payment have been made there is no refund possible. For this reason, it is highly recommended to subscribe to a cancellation insurance (not included by Attitude Montagne). Trips are not transferable. Please see payment part for the complete details.
Cancellation by Attitude Montagne
If Attitude Montagne should cancel a trip, the participant will be reimbursed. Attitude Montagne could cancel a trip in a 2 month notice before departure date if, for example, there is not enough participant registered to run the trip. Please see payment part for the complete details. Traveller won’t be reimbursed if the trip is cancelled because of circumstance of
Attitude Montagne’s control (tornado, storm, hurricane, volcanic eruption, earthquake, landslide and any other ‘act of God’, war, political issues, etc.). In that case, Attitude Montagne could cancel a trip without notice. Participant will be reimbursed less the fees/services already paid to the suppliers and the Attitude Montagne’s commission/profit.
Special conditions
Attitude Montagne propose trips that may be affected by the weather out of his control. If there are extra fees, not included in the price of the trip, due to weather changes (accommodation, transportation, etc) the client will have to pay the extra expenses.
Airfare
Flight ticket information will not be available until approximately 2-3 months prior to departure.
Client will have to make his own reservation for the flight ticket. Attitude Montagne will suggest company and preference regarding flight. Arrival / departure time should be the same or almost for the entire group and the guide for the ground transfers needed. If the timing doesn’t match, the client may have to pay extra fees if he can’t make the ground transfer with the group. Flight ticket should include 2 checked luggage and one hand bag. One of the checked luggage will be provided by Attitude Montagne for group equipment. If flight ticket includes only one luggage, extra fees can be charged by the carrier for the second one and won’t be reimbursed by Attitude Montagne.
Gratuities
Tip for Attitude Montagne’s guide or assistant/local guides and cooks are not included in the price of the trip.
Exclusion
Not included in the price of the trips:
- Airfare
- Climbing permit for some mountains (verify the inclusion in the description of the trip)
- Personal equipment
- Personal expenses
- Meal in town
- Travel and cancellation insurances
- Oxygen if required
- Extra not included (evacuation, additional hotel night, etc.)
Office de la Protection du Consommateur
According to the law, a fee (or applicable discount) between 0.10% and 0.35% of touristic services sold will be added to the invoice for the Fonds d’indemnisation des clients des agents de voyages (FICAV) according to the Office de la Protection du Consommateur.
Tourism services paid for, but not received, may be reimbursed by the Fonds d’indemnisation des clients des agents de voyages. It is administered by the Office de la protection du consommateur. This is financial protection for travelers. For more information: www.ficav.gouv.qc.ca. The funds collected are deposited in a trust account.
